I like the intractable strategy, operations and organization problems that hold back innovation and growth in organizations, stifle creativity and generate Dilbert cultures. Its all fixable. You just have to figure out how to change it in the context of the problem and then find the veins of passion and desire to live with excitement that lies in the soul of all of us and tap into it.
I've tackled these sort of change and transition problems as a Chief Executive, an Interim Executive, as a Board Member and as a Consultant. Ive seen these patterns of transformation in consumer goods, insurance, manufacturing, telecommunications, pharmaceuticals, small business and mega large business, in government and not for profit.
My most satisfying moments are the points where others take ideas I've helped to create and change their organizations. My relationships tend to be long and deep and lead me to work across functions from marketing to finance to manufacturing to legal to innovation.
